Telelearning · South Africa · Coding & Robotics
Telelearning supports a structured pathway from early computational thinking and sequencing in Grade R through deeper coding, robotics and debugging in Grade 9 - then continues into CAT-focused digital readiness in Grades 10-12.
Coding & Robotics CAT digital readiness
A pathway, not a pile of lessons
The concepts become more independent, technical and applied as learners grow, while the pathway stays connected from early problem-solving to FET digital work.
Early computational thinking, sequencing, patterning, digital concepts and playful problem-solving.
Coding, robotics thinking, collaboration, digital citizenship and practical digital skills.
Deeper computational thinking, robotics, logic, digital awareness and preparation for FET digital subjects.
Digital productivity, information management, communication, systems, internet, data and practical application work.
How learning works
Coding and robotics become useful when learners can turn an idea into a sequence, see what happens, identify what needs changing and try again.
Practice stays connected
Telelearning connects coding, robotics, digital skills and scenario-based practice so the learner stays focused on the problem rather than navigating a catalogue of tools.
South African school context
Telelearning uses the same phase structure learners and schools already know: Foundation, Intermediate, Senior and FET. Coding & Robotics is the Grade R-9 lane, with CAT continuing the digital-readiness pathway in Grades 10-12.
CAPS curriculum mapping is treated as a design and governance requirement. Formal CAPS-aligned claims are only made after mapping and approval; Telelearning does not present itself as an official curriculum authority or certification body.
Start from where they are
Begin with the learner's current phase. Telelearning keeps the journey connected as the challenge, independence and digital work increase.
